Ocala is growing. Since 2016 Ocala/Marion County has welcomed 5 new regional distribution centers, four of them Fortune 500 companies, bringing hundreds of jobs with them. Additionally, manufacturing, retail, and hospitality have been growing as well, creating many new jobs. These jobs need employees. Those employees need homes. While residential construction is picking up, it hasn’t been able to keep up with the demand.
Marion County has grown by 110,000 residents since 2000 and by over 30,000 in the last ten years. It has a good demographic mix with over 112,000 between 20 and 50 years of age and 100,000+ over 65, making it a good place to work as well as retire.
